The .ha extension is unambiguously associated with the legacy HA archiver compression format and file type. HA was an open-source project by Harri Hirvola who initially developed and released his HA archiver tool for MS-DOS (1993) and later ported it to Unix (1995). HA uses the HSC compression method, and the HA archiver tool is written in C with some Assembly-code sections for better performance. HA is an outdated archive format.
An .ha file is a binary archive file in the HA format. Most archive managers on all desktop and some mobile platforms provide courtesy backward-compatibility support for .ha archives.
An HA file can be opened and its contents extracted with any modern archive manager in Windows/Unix/Linux/MacOS and other operating systems.
