The .ggb filename extension represents the GeoGebra Worksheet (.ggb) file type used by GeoGebra, a cross-platform Java-based application for interactive presentation and teaching of geometry and related disciplines. Available as both source code and binary installers for a variety of platforms, GeoGebra is free and open-source software developed by the International GeoGebra Institute.
GeoGebra documents are called worksheets and saved as .ggb files. Each .ggb file is just a renamed regular ZIP archive. The .ggb worksheet archive contains three main files: the "geogebra.xml" file defining the structure and contents of the document, the "geogebra.js" file with the worksheet's JavaScript interactivity functions, and the "geogebra_thumbnail.png" preview image. If any images are used in a worksheet, they are additionally saved in the "images" subfolder of the .ggb archive. Users are generally not encouraged to edit the .xml file inside the .ggb archive, but it can be easily done with a text editor. On the Internet, one can find many ready-made GeoGebra worksheets (.ggb) shared by math instructors or advanced GeoGebra users.
